Through a combination of listening sessions, transcription exercises, and practical jamming, students will develop improvisation skills such as melodic construction, harmonic navigation, rhythmic variation, call-and-response phrasing, blues vocabulary, and ensemble communication.
The program is designed to accommodate students with varying jazz experience, from beginners exploring their first improvisations to intermediate players seeking to expand their vocabulary. Each class will concentrate on a specific improvisation element, systematically building upon previous material to ensure confident creative expression and stylistic authenticity.
